Spotlight: A Dress Fit for a Princess

As the countdown to the Royal Wedding quickly approaches, all eyes are on Kate Middleton’s wedding day fashion. One of the most talked about topics and a question that is on every girl’s mind is the style of Kate’s wedding dress!  Recent speculation has cited Sophie Cranston of the Libélula label as the designer of the wedding gown. Even though I don’t know the identity of Kate’s dress, I do know that it will make fashion history and inspire future brides for years to come.

While we wait in anticipation till April 29th, here are some of my picks for a princess inspired wedding dress without the royal price tag!

The dresses (in order left to right) are White by Vera Wang, Oleg Cassini, and Galina Signature from David’s Bridal. Will you be watching Kate walk down the aisle? What are your royal wedding day predictions?

Spotlight: Every Girl’s Dream

It’s every little girls dream to grow up and become a tiara wearing princess.  With the royal wedding approaching quickly, I really enjoyed seeing the potential tiara designs for Kate Middleton spotlighted in InStyle.  Designers have created numerous of sketches, but out of the many thirteen were chosen to be spotlighted in InStyle’s articles.  Designers include John Hardy, Alexis Bittar, Fenton & Fallon, Rodrigo Otazu for Swarovski, Johnny Rocket for Swarovski, Royal Asscher, Van Cleef and Arpels, Chopard, Judith Ripka, Isharya, Tacori, Cathy Waterman, and Anita Ko.

Out of the 13 designs presented within the article “Kate Middleton’s Tiara: Jewelry Designers Sketch Dream Tiaras” I particularly fell in love with Tacori’s design.  This tiara encompasses the traditional design of a tiara with a modern twist.  As a jewelry company founded in 1969, that prides itself in creating handcrafted and intricate jewelry designs, I think that Tacori’s tiara would be the perfect addition to Kate Middleton’s wedding day ensemble.

What tiara is your favorite?  Check out the article HERE and let us at U of Style know!

Be Viva Glam

Ever since Lady Gaga came ino the spotlight, she has been not only a mother monster to her fans and an inpiration to young artists, but an activist as well.

Recently, Lady Gaga teamed up with MAC cosmetics to produce a lipstick and lip glass and 100% of the proceeds goes towards the MAC AIDS Fund. Lady Gaga personally designed both the lipstick and lip glass in a taupe color because she wanted to formulate a color that would look fabulous on all skin colors.

This is such a great idea, and I truly think that it will be extremely successful. You can purchase this lipwear at MAC.com for $14.50, and not only will you be purchasing a great assest to your make up collection, but you will contributing to the fight against AIDS.

On one of my favorite fashion blogs, Coco Perez,  I watched this great video of Lady Gaga for MAC’s VIVA GLAM. Check it out!

Oliphant

The lovely SAS over at Let the Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore recently blogged about a jewelry company called Oliphant. After reading her post on this jewelry line it was hard not to fall in love with Oliphant’s bright colors and fun designs. This jewelry line was introduced in 2010 and I can certainly see why this has become a big hit!

Who could resist this beautiful multi strand of pearls with bright gold accents. Perfect for spring and summer to accentuate your tan! For more information and to see more of Oliphant jewelry, head over to SAS’s blog or head over to Oliphant’s website.
